Dr. Wells Housson is a board-certified Clinical Psychologist. Dr. Housson has extensive experience treating a wide range of women’s issues, including depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, postpartum anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, disordered eating, and body-image issues.
A Dallas native, Dr. Housson completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Dallas, studying foreign languages. She taught high school Spanish before becoming a clinical trials coordinator working in depression and bipolar research. In this role, Dr. Housson discovered her deep-rooted passion for the field of mental health. She began a doctoral program in clinical psychology at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. During this time, she worked at Juvenile Detention, The Shelton School, and Violence and Injury Prevention (Rape Crisis) Clinic at Parkland Memorial Hospital conducting psychotherapy for rape and trauma survivors. Her doctorate dissertation research focused on eating disorders.
Dr. Housson’s background also includes work in forensic psychology. Her range of experience stretches from individual to group psychotherapy. She treated newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and breast cancer survivors in group therapy sessions. As a mother of four children, Dr. Housson is passionate about helping expectant mothers during their vital transition into motherhood.
